DINOSAURS

Trachodon (Track-uh-don) by Paul Drake

Picture
Trachodon means "rough tooth" (Wikipedia). But the Trachodon is also known as the "duck-billed dinosaur.” The Trachodon lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous period from 77 to 73 million years ago (Dinosaur Jungle).

The Trachodon has bird-like features and many other characteristics of a bird.  It has webbed feet, bird-like hips, and a duck-billed mouth, but it is still not considered a bird. It's fossils have been found in New Jersey, Wyoming and other parts of North America (Age of Dinosaurs).

Here is a link to a coloring page of a Trachodon.

FUN INFO: Scientists thought the Trachodon may have been an expert swimmer!!!
