Pelorosaurus (pel-LORR-o-SAWR-əs) by Lydia Sheppard

Picture
The name Pelorosaurus means “monstrous lizard.”
A Pelorosaurus was a dinosaur that lived during the “Early Cretaceous period, about 138-112 million years ago” (Jeananda, 2001-2010).
This dinosaur was a plant eater, an herbivore.
Their fossils have been found in parts of Europe.
How did he look?
He was about 80 feet long. His arms were longer than his legs.
He was an armored creature with a bulky body, a long neck, and a long tail, but his head was pretty small.

The Pelorosaurus was originally going to be called Colossosaurus, but when they realized that colossus was Greek for "statue," the name was changed.
